Over the last two years we have chosen Candlelighters as our nominated office charity. We've taken part in various fundraising activities from panting through Leeds 10k, to bringing out our inner Merry Berry in bake sales, mingling with the generous Leeds folk in email auctions and even fearlessly jumping 15,000ft out of a plane in a sky dive. To date we have raised over £4000 for the cause.

Who are Candlelighters?

Candlelighters (based at Leeds General Infirmary) was founded in 1976 by families and medical staff, and since then has continued to help support children with cancer and their families across Yorkshire.

They fund research, family holidays, and grants, essential additional services within the hospital and vital support for families battling children's cancer. They fund essential additional services from funding posts, to purchasing IT equipment, to building a state of the art Pavilion for families to take a break from the sounds and smells of the hospital. Whether they are supporting families financially, the Candlelighters team are always there for families both practically and emotionally. On top of all this Candlelighters plough hundreds of thousands of pounds each year into the research and study of children's cancer.

September the 9th marks the first Candlelighters Awards. ‘An event designed to say thank you to all the people who help Candlelighters shine brighter'. And we are very pleased to announce that Amsource Technology’s Georgia has made the shortlist of nominees for ‘Company Colleague of the Year Award’.

This award is for the team member who motivates their fellow team members to get involved with various fundraising activities for Candlelighters.

Here’s what Georgia had to say about her nomination…

‘I’m really pleased to have been nominated for a  Candlelighters award. The work Candlelighters do for    families across the region is amazing, it’s great to be  able to  get involved with raising money and  helping  them do  the  incredible work they do. I know I can speak for the rest of  the  Amsource Tech team  when I  say that we do really  enjoy  fundraising for them, and are really looking forward  to  continue our  work for  them, to exceed our previous  efforts  and to increase awareness of the work they do for  children  and their  families across Yorkshire!’

A massive congratulations to all those nominated and good  luck to all those who made the shortlist!
